Director of Greek Life Mary Beth Seiler recognized nationally

The Office of Greek Life Staff is proud to announce that Delta Gamma Fraternity established an award named for our very own Mary Beth Seiler. Delta Gamma presented this award to Mary Beth at the Association of Fraternity and Sorority Advisors annual conference in December 2014. The Mary Beth Seiler Award will recognize outstanding campus partners for their work with fraternities and sororities.

Mary Beth is a Delta Gamma alumna (Gamma Epsilon-Kent State) and has been actively involved with Delta Gamma for decades. She has advised sororities at the University of Michigan since 1979, and currently serves as the Director of Greek Life, working with the Interfraternity Council, the Multi-Cultural Greek Council, the National Pan-Hellenic Council, and the Panhellenic Association. To date, she is the longest serving fraternity/sorority advisor in the country and has remained at Michigan for the duration of her tenure.

At the award proclamation, Fraternity President Stacia Rudge Skoog touted Mary Beth for her tremendous work. “It’s rare that we find individuals with such talent and drive, who stay committed to an organization, cause or institution for their entire career. When we do find those gems, it’s important to recognize not only their personal loyalty, but their commitment to their craft. Mary Beth Seiler is one of those rare gems,” said Skoog. “Mary Beth is a treasured member of Delta Gamma and also a valued member of the Fraternity/Sorority Advisors community. We are so pleased to honor Mary Beth’s years of experience, mentorship and guidance by creating the Mary Beth Seiler Award, which recognizes campus professionals--regardless of affiliation--who champion and challenge our collegiate chapters in living their values and fulfilling the mission of Delta Gamma and their college or university community. We hope that by recognizing Greek life professionals, in Mary Beth’s name, we will continue to encourage all to live up to the high standards she has set.”

We are incredibly proud of Mary Beth’s recognition and are truly grateful to have her expertise and guidance for our community. Congratulations Mary Beth!
