Greek Life

November 13, 2017

The National Pan-Hellenic Council at the University of Michigan supports the vote made by the Interfraternity Council on November 9, 2017 to suspend all Interfraternity Council social activities and new member education in the interim. This decision unfortunately impacts Greek life as a whole, but we understand this decision was necessary in an effort to maintain the safety and well-being of our community.

The National Pan-Hellenic Council has been committed to creating space and opportunity for black students and providing the community with the support it needs to function during difficult times. As we reflect on our role on this campus, we understand that we are leaders and must stay true to our purpose. Aligning with the values of our individual organizations, the National Pan-Hellenic Council will continue to provide culturally safe-spaces and promote the goals of our historically African American fraternities and sororities. We will stay true to our mission and work to the best of our ability to ensure that the campus community is safe and supported.
