2020 Fraternity & Sorority Life Awards

The academic year ended so abruptly, due to COVID19 and the necessary safety precautions, that Fraternity & Sorority Life (FSL) was not able to convene for our annual Awards Night to acknowledge the students from the community who were graduating and to celebrate the leaders and organizations whose achievements this year truly deserve recognition.

Overall, this was a successful year. The community comprises 56 chapters and over 5,400 members who have been engaged through the four dynamic councils. As we compile the data we’ve gained from chapters’ Achievement Expectations submissions for the year, it is very clear that friendship, philanthropy, service, and scholarship were on everyone's agenda. Along with that, approximately 1,100 FSL students completed their undergraduate degree requirements and graduated this month. The graduates’ hard work, academically and through leadership and service, enriched our campus community and helped it be stronger than before.

The attached video was created to allow us to celebrate the FSL standouts for 2019-2020 and, because it’s the first time we are doing this virtually, allows us to take the recognition to another level with a format that can be shared with families and friends.

I would like to extend a heartfelt congratulations to the honorees and to also thank the leaders from each council, Student Life and our campus partners, the external judges and the Achievement Expectations Council Representatives who identified the honorees, alumni volunteers, and the FSL staff all who support this great community. I wish you all a safe and healthy summer. Enjoy the video.
