Greek Week 2019 Benefited the following charities:

Habitat for Humanity (Interfraternity Council) – Habitat for Humanity is a global nonprofit housing organization working in nearly 1,400 communities across the United States and in approximately 70 countries around the world. Habitat’s vision is of a world where everyone has a decent place to live. Habitat works toward our vision by building strength, stability and self-reliance in partnership with people and families in need of a decent and affordable home.

 

Give Merit! (National Pan-Hellenic Council) – Give Merit exists to enhance and extend educational opportunities to underserved youth through innovative enrichment, mentorship, and athletic activities. Give Merit is building a movement to help young people aspire, believe, and contribute through their primary program: FATE. FATE is a four-year, cohort-based mentorship and leadership experience supporting Detroit high school students. 100% of the first cohort (22 students) graduated high school in June 2016 and 100% received college acceptance, with 19 of them choosing to go on to college. With the inaugural class of FATE students transitioned to college, Give Merit is engaged in FATE 2.0; an expanded program model currently serving 75 high school students (grades 9-11) at its Youth Development and Workforce Training Center located in Detroit. This fall (2019), 100 high school-age youth, and 22 alumni will be supported through the FATE Program.

 

Ele's Place (Panhellenic Association) – Ele’s Place recognizes that children’s grief is unique, and that unaddressed grief can have a negative impact on their health and well-being. Unresolved childhood loss is often linked with poor school performance, depression, violence, alcoholism, drug abuse and suicidal tendencies. Ele’s Place grieving children and teens who are at risk of developing these negative behaviors, by supporting them in a unique way. Through their programs, they develop healthy coping skills to continue their lives with hope can confidence.
