The Junior Panhellenic is an educational and service program sponsored by and modeled on the greater College Panhellenic. It is composed of two representatives of each recognized Panhel chapter on campus, who are new members and newly initiated members. Junior Panhel encourages the special responsiblities and good campus citizenship that all sorority membership entails while fostering intersorority relationships.
Junior Panhel is also designed to promote leadership development, with many women involved going on to serve in leadership capacities at the chapter, community, and greater university levels.
Every year, new members of the Panhellenic Association participate in an annual fundraiser put on by Junior Panhel to raise money for the new member scholarship. The new member scholarship is intended to be used for sorority expenses including dues and room and board. The scholarships is awarded to women based on academics, active participation within their sororities, the Greek Community, the University community, and responses to an essay question.
