Values in Focus: Andrea Joyce Lectureship

Fraternity & Sorority Life and Delta Gamma are excited to welcome Emmy award-winning sports journalist, University of Michigan alumna, and Sports Broadcasting Hall of Fame inductee,Andrea Joyce for the 2026 Lectureship in Values and Ethics on Wednesday, September 23 at 7:30 p.m. in Rackham Auditorium.
 
A Detroit native and 1976 University of Michigan graduate, Joyce has built a distinguished career in sports broadcasting spanning several decades. She currently serves as a figure skating and gymnastics reporter for NBC Sports and has worked at 18 Olympic Games. Her Olympic coverage has included gymnastics, figure skating, speed skating, swimming, diving, women's soccer, and women's water polo. Joyce's career has also included nine years at CBS, where she covered events ranging from the NCAA Final Four to the U.S. Tennis Open Championship. In 2023, she was inducted into the Sports Broadcasting Hall of Fame, and she earned a Sports Emmy as part of NBCUniversal's coverage of the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Through “Values in Focus: A Conversation with Andrea Joyce,” attendees will hear Joyce reflect on the values and experiences that have shaped her career while exploring ethics, leadership, and the responsibility that comes with storytelling in sports and media.

The Delta Gamma Lectureship in Values and Ethics is a public speaker series designed to bring conversations about values, leadership, ethics, and personal responsibility to college campuses and their surrounding communities. At the University of Michigan, the lectureship is held every other year and is free and open to the University of Michigan and Ann Arbor communities. Through accomplished speakers from a variety of fields, the program encourages attendees to consider how personal values influence professional decisions, leadership, and the impact individuals have on others.
