January 31-February 2, 2014 will bring the 2nd Greek Community IMPACT weekend for leaders of our Greek Communiyt. During the Fall 2012 semester, the Office of Greek Life staff began planning a new program for campus to help support the success of our chapter leaders. IMPACT Weekend took place January 25-27, 2013 at the De Sales Center in Brooklyn, Michigan. This dynamic institute, developed by the North-American Interfraternity Conference, gave chapter presidents the opportunity to develop as a leader, while being challenged to think critically about the current state of their chapter, council, and community. They had the opportunity to build relationships with other chapter presidents from our 4 governing councils and work collaboratively to help shape the future of the Greek community at Michigan.

IMPACT is a campus based leadership institute designed to foster improved relationships among campus leaders through an intensive, interactive weekend program. IMPACT emphasizes problem solving, leadership development, values-based decision making, effective communication, and community development. By the end of the weekend, participants have a foundation of resources to help them move forward with leading their chapters and a network of peers who share the same experiences.
The institute has a structured curriculum based on leadership theories and is guided by 2 lead facilitators and 10-12 small group facilitators, who are all campus professionals or fraternity/sorority headquarters staff from across the country.
Attendance at IMPACT signifies a commitment to creating a better Greek experience for our entire community. All associated costs for this weekend were covered by contributions from the 4 governing councils, the Dean of Students Office, Alumnae Panhellenic, and funds donated through development efforts.
