After an extensive national search, we are pleased to announce that Devin Berghorst was selected to serve as Assistant Director of Greek Life here at the University of Michigan effective May 1, 2014. A graduate of Hope College, Devin was president of his fraternity and of the Interfraternity Council. He has worked in the Office of Greek Life for the past two years, the first year as a graduate assistant and, this year as the interim IFC Advisor. He took on extra hours this fall, while he was completing his Masters degree in Higher Education and remained on staff Winter 2014 semester in a full-time temp capacity. As Assistant Director, he will continue to have primary responsibility for the Interfraternity Council but will have responsibility for the other three councils as well, will supervise a graduate assistant, and will be more involved with administrative duties.
Devin has amassed a great deal of experience and expertise as a result of his time in the OGL. He is very familiar with the operation of all four Greek councils and the wide variety of issues with which our staff deals. He is very familiar with the University of Michigan campus climate and has further advanced his education by taking advantage of trainings offered by SAPAC, the Spectrum Center, and Health Service. He has assisted the Division of Student Life in the sexual misconduct policy trainings, and he has often volunteered his time beyond the usual duties of OGL staff.
We are confident that Devin will be an asset to Michigan Greek Life and are delighted that he has joined our staff.
