IFC and Panhel Social Moratorium Lifted for Fall 2021

August 24, 2021

The executive boards of the Interfraternity Council and Panhellenic Association councils have decided to lift the social moratorium, originally announced in March of 2020 and extended through the Fall 2020 and Winter 2021 terms. This decision was made in accordance with the guidelines from the Center for Campus Involvement. The COVID-19 Policies for RSOs and SOAR-COVID pathway were officially lifted on July 1st, 2021. Registered social events will resume on Thursday, August 26, 2021.

As the University has begun to shift back to in-person experiences, we advise you all to stay vigilant against the COVID-19 pandemic. Our recommendations are to prioritize outdoor events, socially distance when possible, and continue safe health practices. To help keep our communities safe, we are requiring ResponsiBLUE checks at the door of any social event. This means that students and guests must have a green checkmark resulting from a COVID-19 vaccination or a COVID-19 vaccination exemption and negative COVID-19 test, in addition to passing the screening check, in order to enter events. Additionally, we also urge you all to practice exemplary social responsibility, as many students on our campus are new to in-person social activities.

Here are some resources to keep indivuals safe:

Please note that as the landscape around the Delta Variant and transmission in Washtenaw County evolves, these policies are subject to change and a temporary social moratorium could be reimposed for the health of the campus community. Please bear with us and chapter leaders to ensure a fun and safe fall semester.
