Michael Silek is a Master of Higher Education student at the University of Michigan, and serves as our accountability intern. Prior to coming to Michigan, he earned his Bachelor's from the University of Virginia, where he studied foreign affairs and Russian language.
During his undergraduate career, Michael held roles related to the field of higher education administration and student success, including his role with the UVA Education Abroad Office. Additionally, he worked in career preparedness during his time in Dublin, Ireland, as he assisted adults with intellectual disabilities in their personal and professional development. Michael is also a brother of the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity, in which he served as Vice President of Member Development and Communications for the VA Eta chapter, and currently serves as alumni mentor for the Michigan Alpha Chapter. It was these roles that helped foster his passion for student support and mentorship, and brought him to the University of Michigan. After graduation, he hopes to work in an institution of higher education to identify gaps in resources, and help navigate university policy to close gaps in student success rates."
